Obituary of Kevin B. Phelps

Kevin B. Phelps, 75, was born November 2, 1950 in Brattleboro VT, died on April 2, 2026 at Cortland Park. He spent much of his life in Cortland, he attended Cortland Schools and was employed at the JM Murray Center. Kevin was one of the first residents of the Friendship House; where he had lived for 45 years until his health declined. He will be remembered for his love of sports and music. He is survived by siblings Steven (Sue) Phelps, Tammy (Brian Kenney) Finn, Lori (Peter) Alteri, nieces, nephews, cousins, and care giver John Finn. He was predeceased by his mother Marie Clark (Thomas) and his father Kenneth Phelps (Margaret). Special thank you to Shannon from the Friendship house, his aide Melissa Bush and Mary Finn Reif. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 2 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045, with Rev Christian Jewell officiating.
