Obituary of Anna Mary Golicki

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna Mary Golicki was carried to heaven by her loved ones who preceded her on the morning of April 28, 2026, surrounded by her loyal caregivers. Born to Dr. William J. and Barbara Golicki on Decemebr 20, 1976, her childhood was hindered by her physical disabilities. Though her body failed her, her spirit, zest, and laughter was plentiful. She loved to listen to her grandmother play the piano, and she adored being with her Grandpa on his riding mower and being taken for walks with him. Anna was blessed to find a second family in her home on Circle Drive, Cortland NY. For over 25 years, the Racker Center staff took immaculate care of her. They treated her with dignity, were steadfast advocates of her best interests, and were quick to spoil her and make her laugh. Though physically limited, she did have a mean right hook which she used to express both happiness and anger. A good swat could mean leave me alone!, or could be an invitation to play. Spanking a caregiver or picking their pockets was not uncommon, accompanied by her mischievous grin. She was an "OG" on Circle Drive, with her friends Greg, John, and Ken, and caregiver and friend, Eric. The Golicki family is eternally grateful for the care that was provided by the Racker Center and JM Murray Center staff. Steadfast to the end, her loving caregivers Brianne, Mallory, and Angenetta were at her side for all of her final hours. Her room was filled with more laughter than tears, and while she rested peacefully, she was constantly surrounded by love. Anna is survived by her mother, Barbara G. Klockowski, and siblings Louisa, Joe, Suki, and Billy Golicki, all of Cortland NY. A private event for family, caregivers, and friends will be held at a later date. Family would also like to express sincere gratitude to the staff on 2C at Guthrie Cortland MC, specifically, Jen C., Nikki C., Happy M., and Katrina D. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Noor Amin and Dr. Elizabeth Pines for ensuring her final days and hours were nothing but peaceful.
