Obituary of Timothy E. Terwilliger

January 5, 1952 – June 18, 2026 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Timothy Terwilliger, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who peacefully passed away on June 18, 2026, after a courageous year-long battle with the aftermath of a stroke. He was surrounded by love, with his devoted partner, Peggy Hobart, by his side until the very end. Timothy was born on January 5, 1952, in Cortland, New York. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a heavy equipment operator, spending two years stationed in Germany. His military service was a source of pride and reflected the dedication and strength that defined his life. Timothy found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars, especially his cherished 1934 International pickup truck, which he lovingly restored alongside his stepson, Steven, and grandson, Kaleb. The time they spent together in the garage created memories that will be treasured for generations. Timothy had a way of making everyone around him smile. He also shared a special bond with animals, who seemed naturally drawn to his kind and compassionate spirit. Above all, Timothy's greatest joy was the people he loved. He leaves behind his devoted partner of 33 years, Peggy Hobart, who was the love of his life and his constant source of strength. He is also survived by his stepsons, Steven Hobart (Lisa) and Justin Jr. Hobart (Suzanne); his cherished grandchildren, Desiree Hobart, Kaleb Strickland, and Parker Hobart; and his siblings, Nancy Conklin of Tennessee and James Terwilliger of phoenix. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Groton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Cayuga Medical Center for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided throughout Timothy's final journey. A celebration of Timothy's life will be held at a later date. In keeping with the joy he brought to those around him, family and friends will gather to share stories, remember the laughter, and celebrate a life filled with love, kindness, and unforgettable moments. Though he may be gone from our sight, Timothy's love, laughter, and gentle spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
