I'm sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I have many great memories of Bob from Skaneateles and Achenkirch. He took us to collect crayfish from a nearby pond to use as fishing bait (we didn't catch anything), and showed us his Christmas tree farm (we had to sit on his chainsaw in the back of his truck). Thinking of you all.

Our condolences to Bob’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him. We were very sad to hear the news.
I have a few great memories of Bob, especially from Esther&Carl’s wedding in Skaneateles. I remember how he took all the kids to the Christmas tree farm, and all the fun we had waterskiing, boating, and collecting wood for a campfire. One memory I’ll never forget is when I was about 15 or 16 years old and he let me drive his truck for the first time. He did his best to make everyone happy.

Bob was my brother-in-law married to my favorite sister Kitsie.
Some of my best memories with him were the weekends we spent at Skaneateles Lake in upstate New York — family, water, conversation, and time outdoors.
On one of those weekends, Bob said, “I have a perfect life: fishing with my dad in the spring, golfing with my buddies in the summer, hunting in the fall, and skiing all winter with my family and friends at Greek Peak.”
That line stayed with me because it captured Bob so well. He loved his family, his friends, and the outdoors, and he knew how lucky he was to have them all woven together.
I am grateful for the time we had and the memories we shared.
Thank you, Bob. You will be missed

All the little kids adored Bob. My grandson fell in love with his chainsaw and though he didn’t yet have words, when he heard Bob’s name or voice he’d shout Vroom Vroom!
Big kids adored him, too. He took my son hunting for deer on the annual Thanksgiving trip to LeRoy and that’s where Mike bagged the first of many. He taught me to ski, along with Mike and Carolie, and gave me many years of joy on the slopes. We’d trail behind him like ducklings until Carolie perfected her snowplow and Mike announced he had his own technique and the kids flew off alone and I continued, grateful for advanced tips and coaching.
We all loved Bob. Big, loud, kind and fun to be around. A gentleman in the truest sense of the word. We miss him.

Fishing, hunting, skiing, horses, the woods, and the outdoors have been my refuge throughout my life, and Uncle Bob was central to my early memories. He was like the Pied Piper to all the kids in our family who wanted to enjoy the outdoors.
When Jack was first learning to speak, our family was gathered in Vermont for one of our get-togethers. There was an old maple tree near the house that was dying and needed to come down before it became a danger.
Bob, of course, knew what to do. Before long, everyone was involved — ropes, tractors, family commentary, and Bob with the chainsaw. The tree came down exactly as planned.
On the way home, Jack summed it all up: “Bob, Bob… Tree, Tree…..vrum, vrum… baboom.”
It was his story about Uncle Bob — and just one of hundreds we all have.

Bob lived next door to my Grandfather Taylor’s farm and as my brother Ben and I lived there for a few years spent a lot of time with Bob riding horses and playing cowboys and Indians. When I moved to Cortland I hooked up with him and Kristie, terrific friends. His son Carl was my late son Tracy’s best friend. Sorry to the family for the loss of a GREAT MAN!

I only have a few memories of Bob. I do remember that it was Bob right from the start, and not Mr. Demeree. I only saw Bob a few times, but under pleasant circumstances. Such as Esther and Carl's wedding, skiing in Austria, and the beautiful boat trip on his 80th birthday. To me, he always radiated calm and friendliness like a big tree. My father (in law), never a dull moment with him. He either cut his leg open with a chain saw or forgot to put the plug in the boat, so the next time we wanted to go out, the boat was under water. Or the time that he took the boat out the water and dragged it all the way home with the motor down, so the tail left a deep mark in the pavement. We loved him as a father and as a loving opa. One time I told him that the Christmas trees were at least twice as expensive in the city, so he decided to provide all of my friends with a tree in the city. We all hand delivered them with Lucas and Katja. One time I did the bucket challenge and he was more than happy to poor a bucket of ice cold water over my head together with Chuck and Butch. I can go on and on, but all I want to say, I loved him for who he was! Love, Esther

I only have fond memories of Big Bob, be that holidaying in Skaneatelas or Achenkirch, be it his generosity, his kindness and interest in our children, or be it his love of a bit of fun.

Bob will always be one of those special people who made life more fun simply by being there.
I have so many wonderful memories of him over the years. He was, without question, the best ski instructor I ever had. Bob was the one who recognised that I suffered from “fall-line fear”. His solution was wonderfully simple—he would ski down the slope, look up at me, shout encouragement… and then promptly fall over himself! Somehow that made the mountain seem much less frightening and gave me the confidence to follow. It still makes me smile whenever I think about it.
Then there was the unforgettable moment in Achenkirch when Bob somehow managed to fall straight through the shower door. It was one of those classic Bob moments that had everyone laughing for years afterwards.
Christmas 2011 with Bob and Kitsie was so special too. Their home was full of warmth, laughter and love, and Kitsie’s legendary potato salad. When Esther and Carl got married, Bob seemed determined to buy every inflatable toy available in Cortland, ensuring that everyone—young and old—had enormous fun. And who could ever forget Bob proudly making me a Manhattan cocktail before the wedding? One sip made my eyes water, so Bob happily drank it himself!
Bob was a true family man, generous, kind, adventurous and always ready with a smile or a story. He lived a full and productive life, leaving behind so many happy memories for those fortunate enough to know him.
The world has lost one of the genuinely good guys. The “big guy” will be greatly missed, but he will never be forgotten.
