Jacob Patrick Lyman, age 26, of Homer, New York, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Jacob was born on March 12, 2000, in Cortland, New York, to his mother, Crystal Lyman.
He graduated from Homer Central High School in 2019 and briefly attended Mohawk Valley Community College, where he had been recruited to play baseball.
Jacob led an active lifestyle and was known for his love of baseball, motorcycles, weightlifting, hiking, and his animals. Whether he was on a baseball field, exploring the outdoors, riding his motorcycle, or spending time with those he loved, Jacob lived with enthusiasm and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He will be remembered by his family and friends for his huge smile, infectious laughter, and his kind, generous heart.
He is survived by his mother, Crystal Lyman; his paternal siblings, Jaxyn, Bryton, Madden, Jude, Mauraide, and Kevin; his grandparents, Linda and Joe Newkirk, Jim and Lyn Boyce, and Virgina (Preston) Delles; his aunt, Ellie (Chase) Edwards; his uncles, Joe Lyman, Vinny (Karen) Lyman and Jason (Annie) Boyce; along with many other relatives, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jacob was predeceased by three great-grandparents and one grandparent.
A celebration of Jacob’s life is being held at his home Saturday July 25th at 4:00. Please dress comfortably, this is informal . Bring your stories and remember Jacob along with everyone he was blessed to know.
Jacob’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
