Obituary of Ryan D. Nolan

Ryan D. Nolan, 39, of Liverpool, NY, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2026, from heart complications, with his loving mother by his side. Ryan's life was one of perseverance, compassion, and redemption. He faced many challenges throughout his life, but he never allowed those struggles to define the man he was. Those who knew Ryan knew him as humble, intelligent, and genuinely kind. He had a calming presence, a wonderful sense of humor, and a rare ability to make others feel heard. Whether it was offering relationship advice to his sisters and nieces, lending a listening ear to a friend, or helping a stranger in need, Ryan was always willing to give whatever he could. If he had something to offer, it was yours without hesitation. Throughout his life, Ryan loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed bowling, boating, fishing, and learning to play the guitar. He found joy in life's simple moments and treasured every opportunity to spend time with the people he loved. Above all, Ryan was a loving father to his two sons, Ryan Jr. and Jacob. They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with them. After achieving sobriety, Ryan discovered a calling far greater than himself. Having overcome odds that many never do, he became determined to help others find the same freedom he had found. He created the podcast "Let's Talk Recovery," where he interviewed people from all walks of life who had broken free from addiction and gone on to build meaningful, successful lives. Ryan believed that every story of recovery had the power to save another life. When Ryan finally found hope, he didn't keep it to himself. He immediately turned around to give it away to others. That is the legacy he leaves behind. His mission was simple: to reach those who were still struggling and remind them that hope was possible. His heart was focused on helping people get sober before it was too late. Ryan was deeply loyal to his family and friends and loved them with all his heart. His kindness, humility, wisdom, and unwavering willingness to help others will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his life was cut far too short, the lives he touched—and the hope he gave to so many—will continue to live on. Ryan was predeceased by his beloved brother, Nicholas J. Nolan, in 2018. He is survived by his cherished sons, Ryan D. Nolan Jr. and Jacob A. Nolan; his father, Randy D. Nolan (Rita); his mother, Vicki A. Carbone; his sisters, Sarah J. Rivera (John) and Tiffany B. Haynes (Daniel); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
