My most fond memory of my Aunt Betty will always be the summer I went to stay with her and Uncle Frank for a couple weeks in 1969, I was just eight years old. I helped them with chores and errands while I was there. Betty and I had gathered all of the feedbags and took them back to the mill. She was paid 3 cents a piece for them and gave me a quarter for helping her. Then we went to pick strawberries. I know I had some in the bowl when we were done, but remember I ate way more than that. We got bones from the butcher for the dogs and some groceries. It was the only time I ever did anything with just her and I, so it was special to me.
I also had the chance to fly one of Franks planes with him. Another memory I cherish.
That summer up there on the farm was a lot of fun. Walking in the woods and fields that seemed to go on forever. I'm sure she is there now with Frank, and all of our other loved ones in heaven.
God bless her. She will be missed more than she knows.
