Obituary of Eunice Terpening

Eunice Terpening, 94, of Cortland passed away January 28, 2016 with family by her side at the Cortland Regional Medical Center Nursing Facility. She was born July 12, 1921 in Princess Anne, MD, the daughter of the late John and Rosamond Twining Meyer. Eunice came to Cortland in 1939 and married the late Kenneth Terpening and together they lived locally raising their family. As her children grew older, Eunice worked at Smith Corona until she retired in the early 1980's. She had been a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church of Cortland where she enjoyed watching the school basketball team. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, but her true passion was being with her family. They will cherish her memory as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her sons Gerald (Emma) Terpening of KY, John (Tammy) Terpening of Fl, Timothy (Melly) Terpening of PA, her daughter Carol (Daniel) Fabrizio of NY, her sister Lois (William) Thomas of VA, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Terpening in 1982. Calling hours will be held Monday 10:00-11:30 am with a funeral service to begin 11:30 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.
