Obituary of Carl E. Walrad

Carl E. Walrad 76, of Cortland passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016. He was born on November 6, 1939 a son of the late Verna and Lawrence Walrad. Carl graduated from Groton High School in 1958 and Lincoln Welding School in Cleveland, Ohio. He was employed by Ottenschot Construction as a welder and mechanic until his retirement. Carl is survived by his sister, Jeraldine Carpenter and brother Larry Walrad. He is also survived by his two favorite nieces, Melissa (Tim) Carlisle and Renee (Gene Cobb) Carpenter, his best friends Paul Fish and Dick Ottenschot, as well as several nieces and a nephew. Calling hours will be Friday, November 4, 2016 from 1-2 PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY 13045 Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM following the calling hour at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc.
