Obituary of Gurdon W Bush

Gurdon W. Bush, 83, of Cortland, passed away on February 19, 2017 at the Cortland Park Nursing Home. He was born May 24, 1933 in Cuyler, NY; the son of the late Orie Bush and Ruth Hollenbeck Bush. Gurdon’s Legacy was instilling in us the love of family. He touched so many lives. He greeted everyone he met with a smile and hello with his country boy charm. Gurdon loved the Yankees, he was their biggest fan. He will be remembered for all the opportunities he gave young men to play on the nomad's and all the years of senior softball and volleyball a friend to all. Gurdon instilled in us that family is the most important part of life, always love your children, keep your cup half full and remember age is just a number. Gurdon is survived by his loving companion Brenda Ryan, children William (Karen) Howe, Dennis (Sharon Nadge) Howe, Darrell (Nora) Bush, Cindy (Phil) Bacheller, and Mike (Valerie) Bush; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Gurdon is predeceased by his wife Arlene of 42 years, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Services will be held 2pm Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland, NY.
