Obituary of Diane C. Butler

Please share a memory of Diane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Diane C. Mastronardi Butler, 90, of Cortland went to join her husband, Gerald Butler, in heaven on Saturday, July 8, 2017 for another dance. Diane was born on February 24, 1927, a daughter of the late Benny and Jennie Falanga Mastronardi. Diane was small in stature but big in heart. She ever met a stranger, she was a true to friend to everyone she met. No one left her home hungry. Anyone and everyone were always welcome to share her fabulous meals. She spent her life taking care of others and she loved doing it. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Diane is survived by her four sons: Bernard "Bean" (Dang Orn) of Nevada; Michael of Cortland; John (Debra) of Cortland; and Albert of Nevada; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Bettylou Bakker of Cortland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald "Jake" Butler in 2007 after 62 years of marriage; and by her only daughter, Geraldine "Gerry" Fitts; and a grandson, Mitch Fitts; and by eight brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Wright Beard Funeral Home with interment to follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, July 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY. To send online condolences visit www.wright-beard.com
