Obituary of Raymond W. Dodge

Raymond W. Dodge, 75, of Marathon, passed away on August 1, 2017 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, after complications from pneumonia. Raymond was born on June 20, 1942 to his parents Willard A. Dodge and Thelma M. Myers. After many years of faithful service, Raymond retired from the Cortland County Highway department as a Machine Equipment Operator. In his free time, he enjoyed farming and spending his time with his family. Raymond truly enjoyed being around animals. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Donna Dodge of Marathon, his children; Kenneth (Leslie) Dodge of Virginia, Michael (Stacey) Dodge of Owego, Jack (Julie) Bush of Dryden, Brenda (Kirk) Bush of Ithaca, and Jamie (Kathi) Bush of Marathon, his mother; Thelma M. Powers, a sister; Beatrice Sanford of Cortland, brother-in-law Leon Olds, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Raymond is also survived by his dog Spudsy and his donkey Honky Tonk. Friends are invited to call at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday August 3, from 5-7pm. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Friday August 4th at 11am with a burial to follow at the Lapeer Cemetery.
