Howard B. Holcomb, 79, of Cortland, passed away June 20, 2010 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Holcomb was born November 6, 1930 in Cortland, the son of Howard and Gladys Niles Holcomb. Howard was a life long resident of Cortland. He graduated Cortland High School in 1948, and then went on to work for Smith Corona for 47 years. Mr. Holcomb also served his country in the Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, and served on the board of the Cortland Seniors Club. In his spare time he would spend working in his garden, wood working, hunting or fishing. Mr. Holcomb is survived by his wife, Johanne of 50 plus years, sons; Mark of MD and David (Wanda) Holcomb of SC, daughters Lynette Smith, Karen Holcomb both of Cortland, Sister Janice (Al Hauck) Stisser of Virgil, grandchildren; Nichola Holcomb, Jennifer Holcomb, Rebecca Smith, Nicholas Holcomb, 1 niece, 2 nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
