Evelyn M. Downes, 87, passed away June 15, 2010 at the Cortland Care Center. She was born April 28, 1923 in Blodgett Mills NY, the daughter of the late Leonard & Tressie Vandermark. Mrs. Downes was an area resident all her life. She was employed at Crescent Corset and through the Green Thumb program. She had been a longtime member of the Grace Christian Fellowship Church. She is survived by her sons Lynn (Michelle) Downes and Leonard (Carol Buffone) Downes both of Cortland, sister Harriett Buckley of Pavillion NY, 9 grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1987. A graveside service will be held Friday 3 pm at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Blodgett Mills NY.
