Dorothy Howell, 71, of McGraw NY, passed away October 2, 2009 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born January 19, 1938 in Cortland NY, the daughter of the late Royal & Ruth Pudney Elson. Mrs. Howell had been a lifelong resident of McGraw graduating from McGraw High School in 1956. She was employed by Newbury Dept. Store, then with McGraw Box for many years retiring in the late 1990's. She was along time member of the McGraw Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed antiquing, going to flea markets and garage sales. She is survived by her sons James (Terry) Howell of Homer NY, Robert (Dana) Howell of New Hampshire, grandchildren Jamison & Bryson Howell of Homer NY, Kristen Butcher and Kadyn Howell of New Hampshire, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Howell and brother David Elson. Calling hours will be Monday evening 6-8 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY. A funeral service will be held Tuesday 10 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY 13045. Burial will follow in the McGraw Cemetery.
