Mary G. Benjamin 65 of Cortland passed away September 11, 2009. Mary was born February 24, 1944 in Rochester, the daughter of the Roland and Frances Hoyt Goodrich. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, and had played piano, organ and was a Sunday school teacher and was very involved with her church. . In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and cooking. . Mary had been employed at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NCC Industries and most recently with Ames Linen Service she graduated from Practical Bible Training School. Mary is survived by her husband of 21 years Walter Benjamin of Cortland her children Brian (Debbie) Houck of Groton, Roger (Koreen Obrien) Benjamin of Cortland, Terry (Larry) Swayze of Ithaca, Debbie (Robby) Terry of Virginia, Brenda (Douglas) Breed of McDonough, seven grandchildren ,2 great grandchildren and her step father Glenn Crouch of Genoa . In addition to her parents Mary was predeceased by her brother Paul Goodrich and her grandson Jason Hurlbert. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2:00pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. with the Reverend Rex Baker officiating. I always felt that we were good friends , it was a pleasure working with her at lourdes. I cant say enough about her. We loved Mary as a sister. She truly loved her family and the Lord Whom she enjoyed serving. She was a vital part of the music ministry of our church in Windsor, N.Y.
