Obituary of Irene R. Manning

Irene R. Manning, 84, of Cortland passed away on September 10. She was born August 10, 1925 in Germany. Mrs. Manning moved to the United States after marrying Myron Manning in 1947. She had been a long time resident of the Cortland Area. Irene enjoyed arts and crafts, most notably she was known for knitting lap blankets for residents at the local nursing homes. She was a member of Edelweiss; the German Club of Cortland. Irene was also an avid Yankee's and Giant's fan. Mrs. Manning also loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Manning is survived by her sons; Mike (Lynette) Manning of Cortland, Gary Manning of Syracuse, daughter Rose Mary Burk of Fairport NY, Grandchildren Nichole Burk, Tina Archambault, Trever and Brittnie Manning, and many friends. She is pre deceased by her husband Myron Manning. Contributions maybe made in Irene's name to the Cortland Senior Center, Cortland County Nutrition Program, 60 Central Ave. Cortland NY 13045. Calling hours will be held on Monday September 14 from 3:00-6:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland NY.
