Obituary of Viola M. Henry

Viola M. Henry, 86, of Tully, NY, passed on to rejoin her lifelong love of 67 years, Kenneth D. Henry, on July 28, 2009. Viola was at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 27, 1923 in Homer, the daughter of the late Jesse and Lena Skoten Chapman. Viola a lifelong resident of the area, was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very active member of the Homer Avenue United Methodist Church in Cortland, and participated in many of the church organizations throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors and working in her yard and garden. Viola is survived by three sons; Kenneth R. of Cortland, Dennis of Moravia and Matthew of Cape Coral, FL, five daughters; Linda Head, Patricia Jones, Donna (James) Doody, Crystal Arms all of Tully, and Janice of Cortland and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Viola Henry was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth D., her son Charles and her daughter, Sparkle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Homer Avenue United Methodist Church in Cortland. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery in Preble. There will be an hour visitation 9:00-10:00 prior to the service at church.
