Obituary of Phyllis C. Barwell

Phyllis C. Barwell, 69, passed away on July 28, 2009 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born, Phyllis Christine Cooper on October 31, 1939 to Robert S. and Elaine White Cooper. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Harry R. Barwell; her daughter Elizabeth S. (Harold) O'Connor; her adored grandchildren, Ashley R. Allen and Charles S. O'Connor. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Cooper (Kathy Fuller) and 2 sisters in law Carmelia Cooper of Baldwinsville and Joan Cooper of Cortland and many nieces and nephews including one very special nephew, Matthew Cooper of Cortland. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Robert F. Cooper and one infant son, joseph R. Barwell. As per her wishes there will be no calling hours. A memorial gathering will be held at her home at a later date. I Think Mom and Phyllis are in heaven smoking cigs and having a beer and catching up on the last five years To all of Phyllis's family and friends, I want to say how very sorry I am for the loss of such a caring and wonderful person...I only met her a few times, and she was very gracious to me--her whole family was...I am a distant cousin, the daughter of Mark and Melba Hyde, and the the granddaughter of the late Latisia "Billie" Edmonds Baltimore--I keep in touch with Mickey and John...I was born in Cortland, and I guess we all knew each other when we were very little...I am Maude Cooper Hyde and Earl Scott Hyde's granddaughter..
