Obituary of Aileen B. Cuthbert

Aileen B. Cuthbert, 84, of Wheeler Ave., Cortland NY, passed away June 17, 2009 at her son and daughter in law's home in Freeville NY. She was born May 21, 1925 in Cortland NY daughter of the late Arthur & Ferne Randall Barden. Aileen was an area resident all her life residing at Wheeler Ave. for over 50 years. She was employed by the New York Telephone Co. for 30 yrs. retiring in 1983. Aileen was a longtime member of the Homer Ave. United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering with various groups in the area. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and traveling. She is survived by her sons William A. (Monica) Cuthbert of Freeville NY, Richard Cuthbert and Robert Cuthbert both of Cortland NY, twin sister Arleen Clark of Fabius NY, five grandchildren, several great & great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Aileen was predeceased by her husband William Cuthbert and son James Cuthbert. Calling hours will be Monday June 22, 4-7 pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY 13045. A funeral service will be held 10 am Tuesday at the Homer Ave. United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Sigourney presiding. Burial will follow in the Cortland Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Homer Ave. United Methodist Church, 30 Homer Ave., Cortland NY 13045.
