Obituary of Evelyn M. Baranello

Evelyn M. Baranello, 88, passed away on the afternoon of May 20, 2009 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. Always known as Evelyn, she was born Louisa Marie Canestaro in Cortland on July 19, 1920 to Carmen and Angelina Bisaccia Canestaro, formerly of Ferrazzano, Italy. She married her loving husband Henry Marcus Vincent Baranello on June 10, 1939. Hank Baranello passed away on August 30, 1986. She is survived by her sister Edith Coble of Niagara Falls, her daughter Barbara Jean (Ronald) Denniston of Virgil, son H. Marcus (Elaina Alberga) Baranello of Virgil, grandchildren Steven and Robert Southworth and Micaela K. Baranello and great grandchildren Robert, Edward, Jordan, Mark, and joseph Southworth. She was predeceased by brothers John, Steven, James, Charles, Albert, Andrew, Anthony, Michael, Louis and Fred Canestaro, sisters Theresa Matera, Rose Moore, Angela Gates and special friend Bill Sullivan of Ithaca. According to Evelyns wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Contributions in her memory may be made to Caring Community Hospice of Cortland.
