George F. Coulter, 83, of Cortland, passed away May 20, 2013 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1930 in Camel PA, the son of the late William and Emily Linhart Coulter. George was employed at Smith Corona from 1963-1984 and also with Hydes Diner during the 1960s as well as the Hydes Diner now that opened in 2001. He was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as a NASCAR fan of Jimmy Johnson. He enjoyed spending time with all of his friends from Hydes Diner, A & W, Price Chopper, and Frank and Marys Diner. He enjoyed spending time walking and reading. He is survived by his sister Lorraine Niglio of Las Vegas NV, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends along with his caregiver Laurie Hyde of Cortland. George was predeceased by his siblings William, Mary Jane, and Carole. Calling hours will be held Thursday 4-6 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home , Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY. Funeral services will be held Friday 10 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
