Julia F. Karpenko, 96 of Cortland, passed away May 10, 2013 at the home of her son.
Julia was born September 14, 1916 in Solon, the daughter of the late Salem and Nazera Abdallah Ferris.
Julia had worked along side her late husband at Nicholas Karpenko gas and oil Station Cortland, her sister Vera Foote at Footies Freeze, then retired at the age of 75 from NCC.
She enjoyed working outdoors and tending to her garden.
Julia was a communicant of St. Marys church,
Julia is survived by her son Richard (Virginia) Karpenko of McGraw, her sisters
Tina (Thomas) Maguire of Buffalo, Rena (James) LeFever of Virgil, and Marion (Wayne) Lear of Skaneateles, her grandchildren Christopher, Michael, and Matthew (Molly) Karpenko, great granddaughter Hannah, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Julia was predeceased by her husband Nicholas, sons Robert Karpy and Charles, brother Nagin Tofield Ferris, sisters Eloise Pierce, and Vera Foote
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Wednesday in St. Marys Church
Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday from 3:00 €“ 6:00 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home.
