Robert J. "Bob" Sears 85, of Preble passed away October 16, 2013 in Syracuse, NY Bob was born March 13, 1928 in Vesper, the son of the late John E. and Ione L. Wood Sears. Bob has been employed by Bill Bros Dairy for 30 years before purchasing the company in 1976. Bob was a charter member and past president of the Homer LIONS Club, a member of the Preble Fire Department, and had been employed with the Homer Central School District for 10 years, as a bus driver. Bob enjoyed visiting and spending time with his many friends, but most of all his enjoyed the time spent with his family. Bob is survived by his children: Linda (Lynn) Webb of Madison Heights, Virginia, John (Kathie) Sears of McGraw, David Sears of Preble, Bill (Jill) Sears of Preble, 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and 1st cousin Betty Dickerson of Groton. In addition of his parents Bob was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2008. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Preble. Friends are invited to call from 2- 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
