Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Albert W. Latimer, 94, passed away on February 6, 2013, at Manchester (CT) Memorial Hospital. Albert was a life-long resident of Cortland and had been living at Walden Place until December when he moved to Connecticut to be nearer his daughter, Laurie Hay and her husband LeRoy Hay. Albert was born on February 24, 1918 and lived most of his life on Evergreen Street. He retired from Brewer Titchener. He was a veteran of the U.S Army during World War II and had been very active in American Legion Post 489. He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Barbara, who passed away in 2005. In addition to his daughter, he is survived by a grandson and his family, Brandon and Allyson Hay and their daughters Madeline and Mackenzie of Hudson, MA and a granddaughter and her family, Emily and Chris Wild and their children Colby and Abigail of Clifton Park, NY. Albert and Barbara had been very involved in the life of the former First Congregational Church and the United Community Church in Cortland. For many years they selflessly served their community by running from their house a hospital equipment loan program sponsored by the American Legion. Friends are invited to join Alberts family in a celebration of his life at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home (9 Lincoln Avenue) on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimers Association, ADRDA-CNY Chapter, Inc.; 441 Kirkpatrick Street; Syracuse, NY 13204.
