Janet E. McKane, 71, of Homer passed away on January 18, 2013 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. Janet was born on February 28, 1941 in Winchendon MA, the daughter of the late Edgar and Fannie Vandee Harman.
Janet has been a long time resident of the Cortland area. She was employed at Smith Corona and then went on to work at Sellco. She enjoyed puzzles, NASCAR, being a wonderful homemaker, but above all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brothers Bud and Donald Harman
She is survived by her husband Warner Dick of 54 years, her children; Kathy Vanderpoel of Homer, Michael (Nancy) of Emmaus PA, Shelley (Russell) Newman of Cortland, Tracey (Donald) Phillips of Homer, Bradley (Christine) of Lisle, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews
Calling hours will be held Wednesday 4 - 7 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family
