Obituary of Howard F. Brown

Howard F. (Fritz) Brown passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Cortland Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born in Cortland on April 10, 1938, to the late Frederick T. and Edith (Reynolds) Brown.
He lived in Cortland most of his life and was a local contractor for many years. He was not only a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother but a fun-loving man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Thomas H. (Lynn) Brown; Elizabeth A. (joseph) Burns, and Frederick T. (Mary Ellis) Brown; his grandchildren, Andrea (Rob) Sears, Nicholas, Christopher, William, Gregory, and Frederick Brown; his great-grandchildren, Addison and Rocky Sears, Ashton Brown, and Jaxson Brown; and his former wife, Marilyn E. Brown; all of Cortland. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan (Robert) Matson of Accord, New York, and Jean (John) Fusaro, of Utica, New York, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved and devoted golden retriever, Shy¬-Loh.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Manley Brown.
Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Avenue, Cortland, New York. The family will receive friends at the St. Charles Hotel, 83 Central Avenue, Cortland, immediately following the funeral. Burial will be at Grove Cemetery, Trumansburg, New York, at the convenience of the family.
