Ellen, Jason and the whole Wright family,
I am saddened to read of Dennis' passing. He was a good friend and mentor to me as I became a science teacher. Student teaching in the Homer Junior High School and being mentored by Dennis has always been a special memory for me. I remember his music, his humor and his wonderful hugs. I will miss the occasional meeting around town. I am so sorry for your tremendous loss.

My sincere sympathy in your loss of Dennis. He was my cooperating teacher at Homer Junior High in the fall of 1977. He inspired me as a teacher, and also to become an administrator. We hadn,t been in touch for many years. He had a great sense of humor, was an incredibly child centered educator, and all the more powerful because he shared his passion. My sincere sympathy in your loss. Anne

Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences. Denny brought joy and delightful music to students and staff at Groton Elementary School during his tenure as interim principal. The earth has lost a spark, but I know there is new twinkle in the sky.

Mr.Wright was my all time favorite teacher and became a friend for life. My best friend, Michelle and I were two of his fan club members Mrs. Hempson referred to. We could often be found in his room after school helping him to correct papers or just listening to him play guitar. Many many years later he was sweet enough to go in and play guitar for my daughter's special ed class at the Homer Intermediate school. He was one of God's true gifts to this world and I will miss his presence here on earth so very much. My condolences to his family.

“Flowers are Red” is a song that I feel epitomizes Denny Wright’s idealism in children's education. The lyrics instructed teachers to allow children to express themselves freely, which is what Denny was all about.
Denny was my dear friend and mentor. Teaching together for 10 years, I learned from his endless patience. Denny's fan club of students loved to hang out in his classroom. My daughters were also inspired by Mr. Wright’s magic.
When I served as a student teacher supervisor, I was grateful for Denny's support, then a principal,in advising teacher candidates.
David and I reconnected with Denny and Ellen to enjoy dinners, movies, trips, and conversations. He was wiser than his years, listened well, and offered poignant insights. We often reminisced about all the fun times we shared as young, energetic, creative teachers!
It is advised to always leave this world a better place than how you found it.Denny did just that. Rest in peace, my friend.
Love,Karen

So very sorry to hear of Mr. Wright's passing. I have several fond memories of science class with him (and I am not the twin that liked science.) Jason, my sympathy is especially extended to you as I remember the day Dad dropped you off at camp and I was a newbie counselor. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you deal with his passing. God's blessings of comfort, strength and love surround and fill you.

Mr. Wright was my 7th grade homeroom/science teacher (Homer Class of '86). I learned a lot from him. I'll never forget his passions for teaching, photography, singing, and guitar playing. My condolences to his family and loved ones.
