Obituary of Anthony Minielli

Anthony Tony Minielli, 70, of Cortland, passed away December 21, 2012 at Crouse Irving Hospital, Syracuse. He was born January 13, 1942 in Cortland the son of the late Nicola and Ada Minielli.
He was raised and educated locally graduating from Cortland High School. Tony enlisted with the U.S. Marines and served from 1961-1965. Tonys employment included serving on land surveying crews for MacNeill Surveyors & Engineers of Homer, Santaro Construction of East Syracuse Construction, and was a long time member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 545D. He was a member of the Cortland Elks, DAV, and American Legion. Tony enjoyed hunting, playing cards, but his true love was for his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 44 yrs. Jerri Minielli of Cortland, his daughters Barbara (Allan) James of Washington, Nicole Minielli-Ray of Groton, his son Anthony J. Minielli of Cortland, his sister Stella Partis, his grandchildren Charlotte, Lilly, Natalie, and Gavin, along with nieces and nephews.
Tony was predeceased by his sister Mary Parkin along with his parents.
Calling hours are Wednesday 3-6 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY 13045.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 9 am at St. Margarets Church, Homer NY. Burial will at the Glenwood Cemetery, Homer.
