Obituary of Mild Morris

Mildred I. Morris, 90 of Cortland, passed away June 5, 2009 at the Cortland Care Center. Mrs. Morris was born September 13, 1918 in Cincinnatus, NY the daughter of the late Clifford and Hazel Vining Parker. Mrs. Morris had been a lifelong resident of the area. She retired from Smith Corona after many years of service to the company. Prior to that she had worked at the Cortland Line Co. for more than 20 years. She had also cooked at the County Farm on Lorrings Crossing Rd. for a few years. Mildred had been a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Cortland. Mrs. Morris is survived by her son Wesley (Christine) Morris of McGraw, her daughter June Patricia Klock in Florida, her brothers Richard Parker of McDonough and Jim Keith Parker of Locke, her sister Virginia Novchi in Illinois and several grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces and nephews. Mrs. Morris was predeceased by her husband Herman H. Morris, sons Herman Morris and Douglas Morris, sisters Madeline Walrad and Ella Mae Allen, brothers Don, Alfred and Elwood Parker. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:00 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. with the Rev. Cory Eckstrom officiating Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer. Friends are invited to call Monday 11:00-12:00 prior to the service.
