Bedelia "Dee" Diamond, 71, of Cold Brook Rd., Homer NY, passed away July 26, 2009 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1938 in Norwich NY, the daughter of the late Emily & Roscoe Diamond. Dee was raised and educated in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School. After her schooling she joined the U.S. Navy in 1959, serving as a nurse. She came to Cortland in 1996 and worked for Smith Corona, Cortland Line Co., and most recently at Cortland Memorial Hospital until the early 1990's. Dee enjoyed bird watching, mechanics, collecting coins, but most of all being with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her companion of 44 yrs. Donald Crapo of Homer NY, sons Daniel Crapo of Cortland, Malcolm "Mac" & Donald Wildman of Norristown PA, Roscoe Diamond of New Hampshire, daughter Kaley Diamond of Oregon, sisters Rosalie Skidmore, Sandra Jones, Mona Lou Diamond, Lisa Towndro, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Thursday 11 am-12:45 am with a funeral service to follow 1 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
