Oh Dad, This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. To tell you how much I love you and miss you can't even be said in words. My promise to you is to continue to make you proud of our family and that we will find a way to bring laughter back into our lives. Please rest assure that we will take good care of Grandmother, however filling your shoes is nearly impossible. I will never forget the smile on your face Saturday morning, when you picked up your buddy Nick in the corvette and of the two of you went yelling "I Love you" with the top down (and even the windows)blasting your classical music to spend the day together doing wood. Poppy I promise I will take care of your Buddy, he is tough but he misses you sooo bad. Tyler is having a tough time but he got his birthday card with the recorded message you and grandmother sent him and he recorded it on his phone, and now you are both of the boys ringtone with a beautiful picture. The one thing both boys said was that they were so glad you drove them to school for the first day of classes and Tyler was glad that you saw him enter Jr High. I love you so much Dad, Till we meet again!!!!!!! Valerie

It was not too long ago that I lost my dad. It is hard to imagine that the hole in your heart can hurt so much. One day I ran into a very wise grandmother (of one of our students) who told me that you never get over the loss of your parent. You get through it. You will think of him every day and when the hurt lightens you will know how blessed you were to have such a wonderful man in your life. You will meet again. From reading about your dad's sense of humor, it is obvious that it lives on in you, Valerie, and in Nick and Tyler. They always put a smile on our faces! "Death is not extinguishing the light. It is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come". Wrap yourselves in happy memories and take care of one another. With fondness, Ruth King
