Obituary of Edith Jennings

Edith Edy Jennings, 70, of N. Main St. Cortland passed away Sunday Nov. 1 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born March 5, 1939 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late joseph and Mary Jane McHale. She has been a longtime resident of Cortland. Edith was a graduate of Cortland High School. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, sewing, and cleaning. Edith is survived by daughters Tina Armstrong-Johnson of AZ,Teresa Armstrong of Cortland, brothers joseph Thomas McHale of DeRuyter, William McHale of NJ, James (Leanne) Reese of PA, and Charles Bell of SC, sisters Kim (Bill) Umbrell of Marathon, Patricia Bell of PA,6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Howard Jennings, daughter Toni Marie Armstrong, sisters Anne Waters, Florence McHale, and her step mother Hazel McHale. Funeral services will be held 10:30am Thursday Nov. 5 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Interment will follow at Cortland Rural Cemetery.
