Vernon E. Smalley 88, of Florida passed away January 8, 2010. Vern was born July 3, 1921 in Hopewell Junction, the son of the late Earl and Elva Knapp Smalley. He was an avid trap shooter and fisherman. He was a longtime member of the Blodgett Mills Rod and Gun Club, and had been employed for several years at Brewer Titchner. Vern is survived by his children John Smalley ofFlorida, Joan Hann of French Town, NJ, Barbara Russell, Bonnie Hutchings both of Cortland, and Patricia Mannino of Florida. His brothers Elton Smalley of Florida, John Smalley of Dover Plains, NY 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren 2 great gt grandchildren. In addition to his parents Vern was predeceased by his wife Irene and daughter Susan Sloan. Graveside services will be held in the Spring in Scott Union Cemetery.
