Gary Hall, 59, of Virgil passed away September 22, 2013 surrounded by family. He was born August 1, 1954 in Newburgh, NY. Gary was raised and educated in Orange Co., graduating from Pine Bush High School. He spent many years caring for horses on various farms while living in the Orange Co. area. Gary came to the Cortland area in the late 1990s. Most recently he had been employed at Cortland BOCES. He had a special affection for horses, animals, and tending to his garden. He is survived by his sons Gary (Rebecca) Hall Jr. of Aldie VA, Jody (Christine) Hall of Charleston SC, his father Gaylord Hall of Virgil, his brothers Paul Hall of Cortland, Glen Hall of Lewis NY, Dennis Hall of Cortland, Ross (Jill) Hall of Pine Bush NY, Keith (Cindy Sloan) Hall of Cortland, his sister Linda Hall of Cortland, grandchildren William, Steven, Liam, and Ashlyn, along with several nieces and nephews. Gary was pre deceased by his mother Marie Hall. Calling hours will be Saturday 2-4 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family down state.
