Elmer Kenneth Cutler, 86, of Cobleskill, NY, died on 02 July 2010 of complications incident to old age. Born 18 July 1923 on the family farm in Scott, NY, he was the son of Dwight and Alta (Buchanan) Cutler. He graduated valedictorian from Scott High School and attended Cornell University where he served in the ROTC program. He had worked on the family farm, as a building construction worker, as a grocery clerk for Lablaws on Main Street in Cortland, NY, as a delivery driver for Durkee Bakery and as a delivery driver for Frito-Lay. He was a member of the Order of the Moose; he was active in the Homer Grange and the Cortland Cooperative Extension. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a member of the Homer Avenue United Methodist Church in Cortland, NY. After retirement he was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels in Zephyrhills, FL. Survivors include his son John D. (Sue Ellen) Cutler of Cobleskill, NY, and his son-in-law Bruce (Pam) Karn of Ogden, UT; nine grandchildren, James Cutler of Cobleskill, NY; John (Heather) Cutler of Tampa, FL; Kenneth Lamb of Yuma, AZ; Eric (Jillanne) Karn of Worland, WY; Jeanne (Jimi) Kimble of Petersburg, WV; Linda (Russ) Wixom of Federal Way, WA; Marianne (Kirk) Drennan of Sandy, UT; Keith (Christine) Karn of Cobleskill, NY; and Mike (Ro) Karn of Cottonwood, AZ.; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Elmer was predeceased by his wife Jeanne Elise Hadel Cutler in 1984, his daughter Priscilla "Pat" Christine Cutler Karn in 2002, his second wife Roberta "Bobby" Jane Cunningham Cutler in 2005 and his sister Virginia Alena Cutler Adams in 2006. Calling hours will be Friday, 09 July 2010, 6:00PM€“8:00PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Avenue, Cortland, NY. A funeral service will be held Saturday, 10 July 2010, 10:00AM at the Homer Avenue United Methodist Church, 64 Maple Avenue, Cortland, NY. Burial will be in the Scott Union Cemetery in Homer, NY.
