Charles Edward Brackett passed away Friday, Sept. 3 at home on Lincoln Avenue . He was the son of Nellie Lanigan brackett and Samuel J. Brackett Ed was a graduate of St. Marys School and was a Veteran of the Korean conflict at Saugus. He was a golf professional at Cortland Country Club and Cornell. He was Deputy Superintendent for Cortland County Highway Dept., He also worked for Suite-Kote. He was an orderly/counselor at St. Marys Hospital in Syracuse. He also worked for Dr. Ronald Doughertyat Crouse-Irving Chemical Dependency Unit, a program of which he was very proud. He also worked in Dallas, Texas and Richmond Virginia for several years. Ed is survived by Anne Doyle, his best friend for 62 years. Children; Constance (Christopher) Pendleton of Carlisle, PA., Charles "Booy"(Sabrina) Brackett of Frisco, Tx., Mary (Edward) Applegate, Matthew (Karla) Brackett of Cortland and Colin J. Brackett of Addison Texas. Grandchildren Mackenzie and Emma Brackett of Cortland, Sarah and Nathan Pendleton of Carlisle, PA, Dianna (richard) Turkow and Great Grandson Nathaniel Turkow of Cortland also many cousins and friends. He was predeaced by his Mother and Father, brother Gerald Brackett and sister Marjorie Barron. Services will beheld 1 PMat Wright-Beard funeral home., 9 Lincoln Ave.,Cortland on Thursday, Sept. 9. Burialwill follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call 11-1 PM prior. Contributions in Eds name may be directed to St. Marys School, Caring Community Hospice of Cortland Co. or a Charity of ones choice. Old man, I will miss your voice, laughter and sarcasm. My life is better because we met. Words fall short,not much can be said, but my Heart speaks and reaches out to all of the family. You are all in my Prayers.
