Alice A. (DeMass) Tifft 97 of Cortland passed away September 15, 2010 in Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Alice was born August 13, 1913 in New Haven, NY the daughter of the late John and Etta Watson Donovan.
Alice enjoyed spending time with her family and had been a life member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children Larry (Diane) DeMass of Glens Falls, Robert (Christina) DeMass of Marathon, Alberta (Paul) Richardson of Newark, NY, Phyllis Byrd of Florida, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Alice was predeceased by her first husband Robert DeMass, and second husband Ernest Tifft,daughter Jeanette Hill , sisters Arlene Truell, Lena Licourt, and Arsula Donovan, and brother Burton Donovan.
At Alices request there no calling hours or services.
Interment will take place in New Haven Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

so sorry to hear about your mom her and my mother(dorothy walrod were freinds and neighbors for years i use to take them for rides and out for meals your mom was a very nice lady who will be deeply missed Linda Marshall
...She was a nice person I did't know her too well but I sure had a good dinner with her and Phyllis and friends at Jerico's in the late 70's . I worked with Phyllis at Wilsons Sporting Goods factory .So remember the happy times with her folks!!!!

Very sorry to hear of Aunt Alice passing. She always had a wonderful smile every time we saw her out and was one of the most vibrant ladies we will ever know. At my wedding shower, I remember how nice she was to me and how she made me feel like family. We will miss her. Colleen and Chuck Hamilton
