Myrtle Myrt Rainbow, 82, of Cortlandville, passed away January 28, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 29, 1928 in Linklaen, NY, the daughter of the late Roger and Mildred Ryan Bush. Myrt was a longtime resident of the Cortland area. She was employed with Cortland Line Co. and most recently with Highgate Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening, but most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons Kenneth (Judy) Rainbow of Solon, Alan Rainbow of Cortland, her daughters Sharon Marshall of Cortland, Lorene Putnam of Sempronius, Marlene (Butch) Loomis of Cortlandville, Jill (David) Gilbert of Cortland, Tiffany Rainbow of Cortland, her sister Rody Fox of Solon, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Rainbow, her son Dana Rainbow, siblings Walt, Mary, Ruby, Flossie, Betty, Tootie, Margaret, Doughie, and Cassie. Calling hours will be Sunday 1-4 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY 13045. A funeral service will be held Monday 11 am at Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Spring Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery, DeRuyter NY. Contributions may be made to Caring Community Hospice of Cortland, 11 Kennedy Pkwy, Cortland NY 13045.
