Rosemary OConnor Mooney, 63, of Cortland, passed away March 2, 2011 at University Hospital, Syracuse NY. She was born October 24, 1947 in Cortland NY, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Kane OConnor. Rosemary was an area resident all her life graduating from Cortland High School in 1965. She had been employed with Cortland County for thirty two years retiring in 2003. Rosemary was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Cortland. She loved spending time with her family, traveling to the casinos with her sisters, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons James (Jennifer Powers) Currie of Waynesboro PA, Jeffrey (Deborah) Currie of Cortland NY, her daughter Emily (Mike) Radaker of Hagerstown MD, her sisters Patricia (Donald) Yacavone of Camillus NY, Martha (Andy) Skibinski of Ithaca NY, Kathleen OConnor of Camillus NY, Maureen (Kenneth) Cottom of Homer NY, Karen OConnor of Camillus NY, grandchildren Erin Currie, Skylar and Danica Radaker, Brandie Stokes, Amy Field, nieces, nephews, and her many dear friends who supported her throughout her life. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Terry Cleveland and Anne Reagan. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Cortland NY, 13045. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am at St. Marys Church, Cortland. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Association, 6725 Lyons St., East Syracuse NY 13057. While it is always hard to understand this type of loss, especially after such a brave battle, understand that Rosemanry is finnaly at peace and without pain.
