Claude J. Pete Amidon Jr. 87 of Homer passed away July 25, 2011 in Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Pete was born April 20, 1924 in LaFayette the son of the late Claude J. and Lillian Scammell Amidon Sr. Pete served his country with the US Army during WWII, and had been employed by Lane Construction.
Petes memberships included the Homer Masonic Lodge, the Homer American Legion and the VFW. Pete enjoyed golfing and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marjorie Ryan Amidon of Homer, his daughter Janet (Patrick) Fahey of Indiana, grandchildren Abbey (David) Sonne of Chicago, Sean (Amanda) Fahey of Indiana, and Kyle Fahey of Indiana, his great grandchild Marshall Fahey, his sister Jane (Robert) Abdallah of Cortland, and his nice and nephew Debi and Gary Howe Sr. of Groton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. with Pastor Patrick Fahey officiating.Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery Homer.
Friends are invited to call from 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Marge , Janet and Family A colorful character has passed from our lives, but many memories will linger until we are togather again.
