Obituary of Gerald William Nye

Gerald William Jerry Nye, 67, of Cortland, passed away July 28, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born March 26, 1944, in Cortland, the son of the late George and Dorothy Richardson Nye. Mr. Nye served his country with the US Army during Vietnam. He had been employed at SCM, Overhead Door Company of Cortland, and most recently by Saulsbury Fire Equipment. Jerry enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Batzer Nye; his sons, Gerald Nye Jr., David, Michael, Travis, daughters; Jackie, Penny, Kimberly; brothers, William (Sonya) and Floyd Nye, several grandchild and nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday August 1 at 1:00PM in Scott Union Cemetery with Pastor Archie Smith presiding.
