Obituary of Carlton E.. Nye

Carlton E. Nye, 79, passed away on May 4, 2012 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Cortland, N.Y. on November 21, 1932, he was the son of Roland and Mildred Nye. He graduated from Cortland High School, Class of 1952, and served 3 years in the U.S. Army with military duty in Korea. He was self-employed, installing garage doors. Carlton was pre-deceased by his parents and a brother, Albert Nye. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna L. Nye of 57 years of marriage and his two children; James C. Nye (Michelle) of Tyrone, Penn., and his daughter, Melissa Nye of Cortland. Also surviving him are his three grandchildren; Jacqueline V. Cooper (Collin) of Seattle, Wash.; Jonathan D. Nye (Brooke) of Altoona, Penn.; and Jessika Buckley of Cortland. Also his sister, Sandra Moran of Chester, Virginia, plus his beloved Golden Retriever, J. J. and several nieces and nephews. At Carl's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. Contributions may be made to the Cortland SPCA in his memory. Wright-Beard Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
