Walter W. Carr 73, of Cortland passed away May 1, 2013 in Cortland. Walter was born April 24, 1940 in Blodgett Mills, the son of the late Donald and Hilda Mae Campbell Carr. He had been employed on the family farm for many years, and had also worked for the Lawrence Family farm. Walter was active in the Virgil Youth Baseball Program. Walter is survived by his brothers Donald ( Jean) Carr Jr. of Cortland, Ronald (Dorothy) Carr of McLean, sisters Sadie Ross of TN, Patricia Sutton of Cortland, foster brothers Bob and Howard Thornton, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews,. In additon to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers George, and Alton, sister Cheryl Thornton. FuneralServices will be held 11:00 am Monday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Interment will follow in Marathon Cemetery.
