Jeanne M. Horner 78, of Marathon passed away on March 4, 2014 at home with her family by her side. Jeanne was born February 24, 1936 in Cortland, the daughter of the late William and Margaret Cashion Twomey. Jeanne had been a waitress in various restaurants in in the area, and had been proprietor of J & J Catering in Marathon. Jeanne was known through-out the community as “Ma Horner”, she was an avid card player and had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Jeanne is survived by her children : Timothy ( Suzanne) Horner of Ithaca, NY ,Joseph Horner of Richford, NY, Dennis Horner of Brandon, Fl. Gary (Sheena) Horner of Pendleton, KY, Matthew (Julie) Horner of Nyack, NY Roxann (Michael) Lumsden of Castle Creek, NY Karen (Raymond) Marsh of Harford , NY her brother Jim (Denise) Twomey of Cortland, NY ,sister Marjorie Watkins of Corning. NY 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and a special brother in law Larry Horner. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by husband Gerald, 4 brothers and 2 sisters including her twin sister “Aunt Jo”. A time of sharing will be celebrated 11:00 am Sunday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Friends are invited to call Saturday evening from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Spring interment will take place in Glenwood Cemetery Homer, NY Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Jeanne’s name is asked to consider the charity of one’s choice.
