I met Tom when we were teenagers out having fun at Little York. Little did I know then that Tom would be such an important part of our entire adult lives. He's been our mechanic forever. He was the most hard working, accommodating mechanic that you will ever find. We would take our car to Tom and tell him to do whatever needed doing, and knew that he would do just that because he was so honest. It was always such a pleasure to go to Tom's because we always shared some good laughs. There will NEVER be anyone who can replace him. Rose, Tom seemed so happy with you and finally had some time to enjoy life after all those years of hard work. Tom left this physical world loved by so many. We are so saddened that Tom had to suffer and leave all of us at such an early age, but his spirit is certainly etched.

I worked with Tom at the shop for years always fun to be around we would go home and work on race car. It really sucks that you left us so early I've known you for 30 years and we had a blast. I'm gonna miss the phone calls on car problems and not showing up at the race shop or running for race car parts. I'm gonna miss you a bunch! Not only did you accept me into your life, you accepted my wife and son (Dylan)! You always accepted them as your family without question or judgement. I'm sure your having a blast on the other side watching Earnhardt and fixing cars !!! Rip big T

As I went for a walk this morning and went past your old garage on Groton Ave. I thought I saw you with your head under a hood. When I looked again I realized I was seeing back a number of years ago.
If it was not at your place I would run into you overnight. I be doing newspapers and you were snow plowing. We both laugh about something called sleep we never got. But later bitch about the orange.
I just learned last week from Wil how bad you were and sorry I did not get in touch with you.
Rest in peace my friend and I will always remember you, { you might be covered in grease and dirt and we might be having a beer in the shop at X-Mas but I will never forget you}.

I had the privilege of knowing Tom since, his son Tommy is married to my daughter , Heather. Tom was a very special father, grandfather and friend! He was always cheerful and full of life! Someone as special as Tom was will never be forgotten!

Tommy took care of my cars for so many years. I was grateful to have him as a mechanic. He was honest, fair & a hard worker. One of my craziest memories of him was at his shop. It was an icy day and he was looking under at my of the sidewalk on Groton Ave. A woman came down Pleasant St. Hill, hit her brakes and started picking up speed coming right at us! It was slow motion; we could see the fear on her face and neither of us could move. About 10 feet before she started blasting through us and all the cars in the lot her tires grabbed something. She spun real fast and came to a stop on the sidewalk real close to us and a bunch of cars! She took off after she caught her breath and Tommy and I stood there and laughing hysterically and saying "holy shites" for a while... I'm glad we survived that and glad he made it many more years. But he feels like a part of Cortland that just should have been around forever.
My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I remember the first time I met Tom....within few minutes it was like we knew each other for years. Then he said your on your own dating my daughter and she will keep you straight. Don't make her mad & leave town if you do...Tom was one of the few men I've meant that you just knew you could trust him. The 6 years I had the honor & pleasure to know him were not enough. Those 6 years I saw him be the man he always was... Words can't describe or are good enough for Tom..The great die young and the world is lesser with his absence . Rest in peace Tom and Gods speed to you my friend!
