Obituary of Paul E. Wilcox

Paul E. Wilcox, 90, of Cortland passed away September 12, 2014 at the Cortland Park and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 15, 1924 in Governeur NY, the son of the late Leo and Hazel Vickerman Wilcox.
Paul was raised and educated in Cortland graduating from Cortland High School in 1942. He then went on to serve in the in the US Army Air Corp. during WWII and was honorably discharged. After serving his country, Paul attended Hobart College graduating in 1950. Paul retired from a long career at Monarch Machine and Tool in 1989. He was a member of the Cortland Country Club and University Club. In his spare time he enjoyed skiing and golfing.
He is survived by his sons Gary (Carlene) Wilcox of Cortland, Robert (Kathryn) Wilcox of Cortland, his daughter in law Eileen Quinn Wilcox of Lutherville, MD, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his brother in law and his wife Douglas and Lydia Warfield of Florida, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Paul was predeceased by his wife Mildred Warfield Wilcox in 2006 and son Brian E. Wilcox in 2012.
A celebration of Paul's life and time of remembrance will be held Tuesday 1-3 pm at the Cortland Country Club for family and friends. Services are private. Burial will be held at the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
