Elmer Lynn Wright, 84, of McGraw passed away on November 11 at the Veterans Home in Oxford. He was born on May 4, 1930 in East Pharsalia to the late Louis Wright and Leila Thompson Brown.
Mr. Wright was a graduate of Norwich High School class of 1949. He served his country by joining the Army during the Korean Conflict and later went on to work for NYSEG in Ithaca and Cortland for 39 years. Elmer held memberships in the Fraternal order of Eagles, American Legion and Moose Club. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, bowling, following local high school wrestling, watching the Yankees and the Giants and Spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sister Josephine.
Elmer is survived by his wife Rosalie Wright, sons; Michael (Stephanie) Wright of KY, Larry (Tammy) Wright of McGraw, Leigh (Shelby) Wright of Pitcher, Thomas (Patricia) Barnes of Homer daughters; Marilyn (Alan) Cook of Pitcher, Cheryl (Richard) Nauseef of Cortland, Sandy (James) Kline of Homer, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother George (Judy) Wright of North Norwich, sister Adelaide (Elmer) Aldrich of Oxford, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland, with a memorial service to begin at 4:00.
