Obituary of Esther Snyder

Esther Snyder, 96, of Cortland passed away November 30, 2014 at the Cortland Park & Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 14, 1918 in Summerhill NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Ann Burgess Eaton. Mrs. Snyder was a lifelong resident of the area. She had been employed by Cobako and Smith Corona Corp. She was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church and volunteered at the Cortland Memorial Hospital (CRMC). Mrs. Snyder is survived by her brother Glenn Easton of Auburn, her sisters Fannie Powers of Rochester NY, Betty Weaver of Moravia, and Lucy Steger of Summerhill, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Snyder, her siblings Victor Eaton, Stephen Eaton, Sarah Knickerbocker, Dorothy Ross, Mary Tracy, and Ida May. A calling hour will be held Wednesday 1-2 pm with a funeral service to begin 2 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045 with Rev. Steven Barton presiding. Burial will follow at the Sand Hill Cemetery, Dresserville NY. Contributions may be made to Bibel Baptist Church, 15 West Rd., Cortland NY, 13045.
