Charles L. Casterline, 82, life long resident of Cortland, NY, passed away December 28, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 18, 1932 to his parents the late John and Eleanor Hawley Casterline. Charles worked in sales and service at the Overhead Door Company for over forty years. He was an avid fisherman, bowler, NASCAR fan, cat lover, and enjoyed listening to country music. He also took great pride in feeding the blue jays and squirrels of Grant Street. He will be missed dearly by family, friends,and all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Constanze, sons Danny (Nancy) of Whitney Point, Gene (Cathy) of Cortland, Tim (Susan) of McGraw, Kirk of Cortland, John Horner of Cortland, daughters Brenda Lee Williams of Cortland, Debbie (Jimmy) Marks of Cortland, Noreen Bryan of Cortland, and Vivian (Dicky) Arnold of Cortland. In addition to his children, he is survived by brothers Ray and Ed (Pat), sisters, Mary Brown, Helen (Leonard) Warfle, Lil (Bob) Lindley, and Joyce (John) Marvin. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charles was pre deceased by his brother James, mother-in-law Mutti (Annelies) as she was known by family and friends, and brother-in-laws Wally Brown and Fritz Schmidt-Bonacker. Calling hours will be held on January 10, 2014 from 10-11:45am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home of Cortland with a service following at 12:00 pm.
